Normally you need a depth of at least two and a half inches. For the outside mounts, you will need to measure the width, across the window and then add four inches on each side. Ensure that you leave about half an inch of clear space at the bottom. The height of the window can be measured by measuring the center of the window from the top to bottom. Ensure that you add six inches to the height that you have measured. You can install the blinds on your own. These blinds are available with the plastic sleeves. You will need a good electric screwdriver to screw those sleeves on top of the window with the opening in facing you. Now, place the top of the mini blind on those plastic sleeves.
