Now that your linens have been washed what's the best way to get them dry? Linen can be placed in a dryer, hung on a line or laid flat to dry. If you are using a dryer you will want to place it on the delicate or gentle cycle so the temperature is a little cooler than some of the other settings. Having the linen in direct sunlight for at least part of the drying time is recommended to kill any bacteria and because it makes your linens smell good. Linen fabrics do not have to be ironed but if you choose to it is best to do it when the fabric is still slightly damp. White and light colored linens can be ironed on both sides, but darkly colored linens should only be ironed on the wrong side (the side that is not facing out to be seen).
You can also use a squeegee or purchase some cleaning equipment, like a sponge, in order to make the cleaning job even easier.
If you're hanging a curtain rod inside the window frame (typically spring or magnetic rods) measure at the inside point of the window. Again, measure each and every window - you don't want any surprises later!
There's nothing like the remarkable feeling you experience from pulling a scented curtain tassel out of its beautiful packaging. Lifting the flap releases the scent . . . then you grasp the braided hanger cord and pull the tassel gently out . . . and remember the excitement of opening a really wonderful present! Lots of folks say it's the little things in life.
